Frequently Asked Questions
Do you accept insurance?
No. This is a private-pay practice. You’ll receive a Good Faith Estimate before we begin, in compliance with the No Surprises Act, so the investment is always clear and never a surprise
Do you offer a free consultation?
I don’t offer a free 15-minute call. This work is depth-oriented from the very first conversation, so reaching out starts with a real exchange about what brought you here and whether this feels like the right fit, not a sales call. Reaching out is not a commitment. It’s the first act of choosing yourself.
Where are you licensed, and can we work together?
I’m licensed in Florida, New Jersey, and Washington, DC. You’ll need to be physically located in one of those states during each telehealth session. I also see clients in person on Fridays at my Lake Mary, FL office.
Do I have to be in crisis to start therapy with you?
No. Most of the women I work with aren’t in crisis. They’re functioning, capable, and quietly exhausted from holding everything together. If you are in active crisis or need immediate stabilization, I’ll help connect you with a higher level of care first, since that’s not what this practice is built for.
What actually happens in a first session?
We’ll talk about what brought you here, what you’ve already tried, and what you’re hoping shifts. I’ll share my early clinical impressions and what working together might look like. There’s no script and no pressure, just an honest first conversation.
How long does this kind of work take?
This isn’t quick-fix therapy. Most clients work with me weekly for an extended period, because rebuilding self-trust at a pace your nervous system can actually integrate takes longer than a few sessions, even if it moves faster than you expect once you begin.
Are sessions in person or online?
Both. Telehealth sessions are available if you’re physically located in Florida, New Jersey, or DC. In-person sessions are available Fridays at my Lake Mary, FL office.
Are you currently accepting new clients?
Yes, for in person. Individual therapy is open for in-person appointments at this time; you can schedule your intake directly. If you’re not ready to book yet, you’re welcome to join the interest list instead to stay close and hear about what’s opening next. Telehealth appointments will open September 1st
Couples Therapy
Do you accept insurance for couples sessions?
No, couples therapy here is private pay, $275 flat rate, which includes the full Prepare & Enrich assessment when that’s part of our work together. You’ll receive a Good Faith Estimate before starting.
What is Emotionally Focused Therapy, and why does it matter for us?
EFT is one of the most research-supported approaches for healing relational disconnection. Instead of refereeing what you’re fighting about, it goes underneath the conflict to the attachment needs driving it, the fear of not being enough, the longing to be chosen, the grief of feeling unseen. It’s not communication skills training. It’s the work of finding your way back to each other.
Do we need to be in crisis, or about to separate, for this to be worth it?
No. This work is best suited for couples who are willing, not necessarily happy right now, but willing to be honest and a little uncomfortable. If you’re in active crisis or experiencing abuse, I’ll help connect you with the right level of support instead.
What if one of us isn't sure this is necessary?
That’s common, and it doesn’t disqualify you. What matters more is whether you’re both willing to show up and turn toward each other instead of away. We can talk through that hesitation directly in our first session together.
Do you offer premarital counseling?
Yes. I integrate Prepare & Enrich, a structured, research-based assessment, for couples preparing for marriage or wanting to build a strong relational foundation before committing further.
How is this different from communication-skills-focused counseling?
Communication tools address the surface. This work addresses what sits beneath it, the attachment wounds and nervous system patterns that make the same fight repeat in different clothes. I will not take sides. I hold the relationship itself as my client.
Are you accepting new couples clients right now?
Yes, but currently for in person on Fridays. Couples therapy is open now; you can schedule your intake directly. Telehealth appointments will be available September 1st. If you’re not ready yet, you’re welcome to join the interest list to hear about the couples intensive and other upcoming offerings.
